OUR TEAM

Black Coffee
FOUNDER
Nkosinathi Maphumulo a.k.a. Black Coffee is a music producer and DJ with over 2 decades’ experience in the music industry. He is arguably Africa’s biggest DJ and musical act. He has collaborated and worked with artists such as Drake, Alicia Keys, Usher, Pharrell and Hugh Masekela to name but a few.
Outside of music, his interests are wide and varied. He stays connected to the latest trends in fashion, art, tech and property. Reserved, hard working and intellectual – his passions, though not well known to the public, were the basis for him forming Flightmode Digital. The name Flightmode came from the time he spent in between DJ gigs on planes where all his devices were turned off. While most people would be sleeping and resting, he used that time to create music and strategise about his business interests.
